General Nursing

Since there is no central Entrance Exam for GNM Admission, the admission process involves state specific entrance exams. The basic eligibility criteria for GNM Admission is that students must pass class 12, with more than 40% having English as a subject of study. The GNM Nursing eligibility criteria may vary slightly from state to state.

GNM Syllabus consists of subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing etc. GNM 1st Year subjects are Bio-Science, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing Foundations, Community Health Nursing etc.

After the GNM Nursing course, students can pursue a career in nursing such as Clinical Nurse Specialists, Legal Nurse Consultants, Forensic Nurses, Travelling Nurses, etc. Salary in GNM Jobs ranges from INR 35,000 to INR 42,000, which increases according to work experience

PBBSc Nursing

BSc Nursing (Post Basic) is a 2 years undergraduate course that is designed to enhance the nursing skills of professionals who already have a background in nursing or a similar field. It provides an advanced level of knowledge related to medical care.

The basic eligibility criteria are that students should have completed Class 12 with a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and should have a registration in Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM). The difference between BSc Nursing Post-basic and MSc Nursing is that one is an undergraduate course and another is a post graduate degree.
